Creating Target Company Lists

tip

Throughout this section, example prompts can be copied and pasted into your chat with Kaiya:

Hover over the copy icon on the right of the box, and click 👉

The basics

Kaiya can help you source the information you need to build your target company list.

tip

You'll need to break down the task into chunks for Kaiya to be most effective

  • You can give Kaiya a task in a single turn that would take a human 10-15 minutes.
  • Kaiya can search the web up to 10 times in a turn

If Kaiya is struggling with the task, ask her to take a step back, plan how to break the task into smaller chunks, then ask Kaiya to start with the first task

Search strategies to build company lists

You can either provide Kaiya with a list of search strategies you already have in mind, or ask Kaiya to create some for you.

Example prompt: Providing Kaiya with your search strategies to build a target company list

Provide each search strategy in turn to Kaiya. This is a task where Kaiya will benefit from planning and thinking through the task in advance:

You:

I'd like you to find 10-15 companies that compete with Stark Industries and operate in the UK. I need their name, revenue, number of employees, and UK headquarters location. Give me the results in a spreadsheet.

I suggest we find the companies, then find one datapoint for all companies at a time

Make a plan and get started.

Give me a running list of the data you collect as we're going.

Kaiya:

Certainly, here are 15 companies...(etc)

You:

Great, next I want a list of 10-15 companies that have operations in the UK who provide both products and services (integration) to the large aerospace manufacturers.

They don't need to exclusively provide aircraft components.

You'll need to plan and think through your search strategy and confirm with me prior to doing any searches.
warning

Kaiya may try and visit websites that are not accessible, or read documents like annual reports that are too long.

If you notice errors or if Kaiya seems to be getting stuck, ask her to use the web search results or try alternative sites for the information.

You:

You can't get to websites like Pitchbook directly, try and accomplish the task by using alternate sources, or look for the data in the search results.

Example prompt : Asking Kaiya to create search strategies for your target company list

Kaiya is a great thinking partner and will help you formulate search strategies. Just ask Kaiya to plan and then start the task.

Once you've agreed the search strategies, you can ask Kaiya to start sourcing the information

You:

I'm looking to build a target list for an exec search assignment. Client is Stark Industries - plan some alternate web searches we could use to find companies we target for recruitment for, based in the UK who would be relevant to target. Think aloud, weigh up options, I want 5 alternate search strategies.

Example Prompt: Getting the Target Company List as a document or spreadsheet

Kaiya can provide you the information in the chat, within a Word Document or in a Spreadsheet. Just ask for the information you need:

You

Great, can you now give me the full list of results in a spreadsheet. I'd also like you to produce a profile of each company and give that me as a word doc
